Today we unbox the Wave 3 characters for Skylanders Imaginators. I think Lias does a pretty good job for only having the use of one arm. I probably struggle the most with the Enchanted Elven Forest Pack. Most of these characters can be found at Toys R Us, though a few of them are store specific. I expect many of them will start showing up at GameStop and Best Buy in the next week or two.

Rumors have been swirling for a while now about Wave 3 Imaginators characters hitting store shelves. I can finally say that they have appeared at my local Toys R Us this weekend. I picked up everything but the Thumpin Wumpa Islands Adventure Pack, since we got that with the PS4 edition of the game. Also, strangely enough I did NOT see that adventure pack at Toys R Us, though you can pick it up from Target Online, so if you are looking for that watch for it to show up soon.

Well, here we are with another Wave 3 unboxing for Skylanders SuperChargers. After Christmas we’ve seen the slow release of a number of “special” characters and dual packs. We’ve picked up the ones we found and needed, and now we have another unboxing of Wave 3 characters. Maybe it’s more like Wave 3.5 as these special variants don’t really stick to the typical wave releases of characters. In this unboxing we have the Turbo Charge Donkey Kong, and Barrel Blaster dual pack, The Sky Racing Pack featuring Astroblast and the Sun Runner, the Target exclusive Nitro Soda Skimmer, the Toys R Us exclusive Legendary Bone Bash Roller Brawl, and Birthday Bash Big Bubble Pop Fizz.
We finally got our hands on all of the Single Pack Skylanders and vehicles expected in Wave 3 for SuperChargers. The characters came out first a couple weeks ago, and we picked most of those up. Missle-Tow Dive-Clops and Nightfall got a special “First at GameStop” release so we waited for those. After not seeing any of the vehicles in all that time and figuring that GameStop might have promoted them if they were expecting them, we went ahead and did our Wave 3 Character Unboxing. But wouldn’t you know, the next day I stopped by Toys R Us, and the vehicles were out, so I picked them up and we did a second video which we have added to our first video. Well, over the last few weeks we’ve seen the trickle of Wave 3 Characters hitting store shelves for Skylanders SuperChargers. So far they are mostly at Toys R Us and GameStop, but I think they’ll show up soon at other retailers. Some are “First at GameStop” so it’s hard to say when those will hit other retailers. Anyway, we’ve been waiting for the Wave 3 vehicles to come out for a couple of weeks now and I thought we were destined to wait until after Christmas. However, after going to my local Toys R Us this morning, I find that I was wrong. They have indeed begun to make their way on to store shelves at least at Toys R Us. So if you are looking for some new Skylanders or that last minute Christmas gift, get your eyes open and stay vigilant, because you’ll most likely find something new.
I was at my local Toys R Us this morning and what did I find but four Wave 3 characters hanging on the wall. Lava Lance Eruptor, Splat, Hurricane Jet-Vac and Big Bubble Pop Fizz were all there. What wasn’t there were any of the Wave 3 vehicles: Shield Striker, Splatter Splasher and Thump Truck. There were also no new dual packs, triple packs or action packs, but these tend to trail the main release anyway. I’m guessing we’ll just see these other items trickle in in the coming weeks as they become available.
Yesterday 1/22/14 Target restocked their shelves and on them were some Wave 3 Skylanders. At the stores I went to I saw all three Swappable characters, both Lightcore Characters and a Triple Pack. I did not see Sheep Wreck Island, or the Arkeyan Crossbow Battle Pack. For the Core Skylanders, I saw Smolderdash, Hyperbeam Prism Break, and Horn Blast Whirlwind. I did not see Dune Bug or Phantom Cynder, but they are both listed on Target’s Website with a release date of 1/31. I’m not sure if my Targets broke some kind of street date, or if they just got their shipments in earlier than they thought, but all three stores I visited in my area had some of the Wave 3 characters on the shelves. So now is the time Portal Master! Go get your Wave 3 Skylanders at Target and use your RedCard to save 5%. Also, you may want to call ahead and ask if they have Spy Rise or Rubble Rouser. Those were two I saw the most of by far.
It looks like Best Buy is the next retailer to start having Wave 3 Swap Force characters available. Most single characters are in stock. It looks like the Triple Packs and Adventure Packs may either be out of stock already or not quite in stock yet for the first time.

We finally get around to opening some of the Wave 3 characters we have found. And who does Conner choose first? Dune Bug! Enjoy the Dune Bug Unboxing.
The big dog now has Wave 3 Skylanders. That’s right Amazon.com sent out a press release today announcing that all wave 3 Skylanders are now in stock (in the US). However, there list of available Skylanders is either wrong, wishful thinking, or already sold out of some of them. None of the swapable characters seem to be available (yet? or anymore?), nor any of the lightcores, nor any of the new Triple Packs. The five core characters are available though as well as the battle pack and adventure pack.
