Nintendo Announces New Skylanders / Amiibos

Nintendo Announces New Skylanders/AmiibosAt the Nintendo Direct for E3, Activision unveiled two new Skylanders and two new Signature Vehicles coming specifically to the Nintendo versions of SuperChargers. These characters will be Skylanders in the Skylanders game, but a unique twist of their base will transform the characters into Amiibos to be used in other Amiibo supported Nintendo titles. Hammer Slam Bowser, and Turbo Charge Donkey Kong will be the two new Skylanders. They will be driving the Clown Cruiser and Barrel Blaster respectively. Nintendo Announces New Skylanders/AmiibosFrom looking at the characters closely, it appears that Turbo Charge Donkey Kong will be a Life Element, and Hammer Slam Bowser will be a Fire Element. I can only assume that these are in addition to the already mentioned 20 characters and vehicles available to the game but I have not heard any word from Activision about this yet. These are the first Skylanders to be platform specific, so if you want to play with these characters you will want to grab one of the Nintendo versions of Skylanders SuperChargers.

Love Potion Pop Fizz on Store Shelves

Love Potion Pop Fizz on Store ShelvesLias and I were at our local Target today. As tradition we always stroll through the Skylanders aisle. To our pleasant surprise, we saw a new Skylander that we didn’t have. It was Love Potion Pop Fizz. He is a series 3 special paint variant of Fizzy Frenzy Pop Fizz. Now, I knew he would be out for Valentine’s Day, but I did expect him almost last minute. That seems to be how the special paint Skylanders get released. I checked the online websites of several retailers but none of them show the character yet. Like I said before we found him at Target, but he could also be at Toys R Us and maybe Best Buy. If not, I would expect them to show up soon. Typically these special paint Skylanders stick around anywhere from a few days to a month or two. I think holiday one’s typically can be found for a month. I still see Winterfest Lob Star in the wild. So if you don’t find him in the next day or two, don’t give up hope.

Happy hunting!

Kaos Doom Challenge Waves 1-10

Kaos Doom Challenge Waves 1-10Today for SkylanderNutts Plays Trap Team, we wanted to try out the Kaos Doom Challenge mode to see what that was all about. We end up playing the first two levels which equates to Waves 1 through 10. It’s a pretty fun mode so far, part Arena Battle, part Tower Defense. What makes it easy is the fact that you can swap out your Skylanders when you die, unlike the Arena Challenges where you are locked to just one Skylander per battle. So based on that alone, we’ll probably never fail. Check it out and let us know what you think of the Kaos Doom Challenge Waves 1-10.

Hyper Beam Prism Break Unboxing

Hyper Beam Prism Break UnboxingToday Conner unboxes Hyper Beam Prism Break. Apparently he battled through the unboxing in great discomfort. Not really. It turns out he was just hungry. But he does say sometimes the strangest things when he is done with an unboxing so I included it as an outtake. Enjoy this Hyper Beam Prism Break unboxing.
