Gearshift - Skylander ReviewGearshift is a brand new Tech Trap Master which debuts in Skylanders Trap Team. She was created by a king who considered the robot to be his own daughter. Gearshift liked to spend most of her time in the Labyrinths below the kingdom tending to the huge machines that were there. This was not what the King wanted her to do. However, one day a squadron of Undead Stormriders attacked and wanted to capture the King. Gearshift hid the King in the Labyrinths below the kingdom and used the Great Gear to fight off the invaders. After this she was made part of the Trap Team where she could use her Traptanium-forged gear to help defend Skylands.

Trap Team Arena Battles – Exhaust Junction

Trap Team Arena Battles - Exhaust JunctionWelcome to the fourth installment of Trap Team Arena Battles. Today Lias and I take on the Exhaust Junction. This is the most challenging (and frustrating) set of arenas we’ve played yet. Guess which one of us gets frustrated and guess which one of us takes it all in stride? We are forced to use a couple of our best ranged characters in this installment so most of the battles are fought with Bushwhack, Wildfire, and Gusto. Give it a watch and let us know if these levels frustrated you as much as it did us.

Trap Team – Sunscraper Spire (Light Element Expansion Pack)

Trap Team - Sunscraper Spire (Light Element Expansion Pack)Today the boys and I play the new Sunscraper Spire level from the new Light Element Expansion Pack. I play with the new Knight Light, which I thought was the first time I had played with the character, but actually I did play with him for a brief second on the Midnight Museum level. Conner starts with Knight Mare from the Dark Element Expansion Pack so we start with the forces of Light and Dark working together. Overall we found this level and boss battle to be much more interesting than the Midnight Museum. Give it a watch and let us know what you think.

Funny Bone - Skylander ReviewFunny Bone is a brand new core Undead Skylander which debuts in Skylanders Trap Team. He comes from the funniest place in the land of the undead – Punch Line Island. It is also home to the Chuckling Trees who use magic to make everyone laugh  when the breeze tickles them. One day Funny Bone was burying his neighbors birthday cake when he noticed strange beings with large axes. He immediately knew that the Chuckling Trees were in danger. So he defended the trees and chased away the invaders. Master Eon took note, and invited Funny Bone to become a Skylander.

Trap Team - Midnight Museum (Dark Element Expansion Pack)We’re back! You might think that once you beat Trap Team that you have nothing else to do. That’s never the case in a Skylanders game. Today we dive into the Dark Element Expansion Pack. It comes with one new level called Midnight Museum. Since it is the first extra level we are playing, it’s listed for us as Chapter 19. I’m guessing it will be a different chapter for you if it’s not your first expansion level. Either way watch as we use our new Knight Mare Dark Element Trap Master and Winterfest Lob-Star (as well as a few others) to tackle this level and try to bring down the new Dark Villain Night Shade.

Trap Team - The Ultimate Weapon (Chapter 18)Here it is! The last chapter of Skylanders Trap Team – The Ultimate Weapon. We reached our goal of finishing the campaign by Christmas. We’re about to take a little break for the holidays, but we’ll be back soon with a Mega Epic Wave 3 Unboxing, more Arena Battles, Kaos Doom Challenges and a look at each of the four expansion levels, the Mirror of Mystery, Nightmare Express, Midnight Museum and Sunscraper Spire. We’ll also have our Trap Team Cutscene Theater video, some character reviews, and maybe a couple other fun videos I’m thinking about doing. But for now, watch as Conner and I use our army of Skylanders to battle Smoke Scream and finally Kaos! I hope the boys don’t have any nightmares about Kaos coming through the TV or portal. 🙂 Enjoy watching The Ultimate Weapon and Happy Holidays!

Expansion Packs and Some Wave 3 Out Today

Expansion Packs and Some Wave 3 Out TodayDecember 21st marks the release of the Light Element Expansion Pack and the Dark Element Expansion Pack. It also seems to mark the beginning of the Wave 3 release characters. Toys R Us once again will have a temporary jump on other retailers. This morning at my local Toys R Us, I saw both of the new expansion packs, two new mini packs: Gill Runt with Thumpling and Small Fry with Weeruptor, and two new core Skylanders in Cobra Cadabra and Trail Blazer. I did not see the two new core Skylanders of the light and dark elements that were rumored to be out with the expansion packs. However, my local Toys R Us employee said they are expecting more characters on Tuesday or Wednesday and then again after Christmas. There are rumors of other characters that will be part of a Wave 3 release. Be sure to check out all of the possible Wave 3 figures that we have pieced together here. By early January we should see all of Wave 3 characters in stores.

Wave 3 Trap Team Skylanders

Wave 3 Trap Team SkylandersWave 3 Trap Team Skylanders started trickling out on 12/21/2014. Based on some reports from different states and some rumors and internet sightings I am starting to compile all of the figures that will probably be released in the next two or three weeks. I would say that by mid January most of these should be easily found at most retailers. Here’s what I’ve discovered so far. There may be more figures in Wave 3 not yet discovered so if you have any more information, or have seen something else new just leave us a comment.

Light and Dark Expansion Packs Coming 12/21
Dark Element Expansion Pack

Activision has announced that the new Light and Dark expansion packs will be available starting Sunday December 21st at Toys R Us. Two new Trap Masters will be part of these packs, Knight Light will come with the Light Element Expansion Pack and Knight Mare will come with the Dark Element Expansion Pack. In addition each pack will contain a corresponding new trap and an expansion level with new enemies to trap. There will also be two new core dragon Skylanders released. Blackout is a new Dark Element dragon, and Spotlight is a new Light Element dragon. Look for all of these to be on Toys R Us store shelves this Sunday!
