SuperChargers Wave 1 Ready For Pre-Order

Super Chargers Starter PackAfter checking out several of the retail websites this morning, it became obvious that most of the SuperChargers Wave 1 characters are available for Pre-Order at several popular retailers. It also showed a couple of new exclusives and alternate versions which are also available for Pre-Order. Best Buy also showed a couple of Dual Packs available for pre-order, but these have a release date of 10/2. This possibly could be the date for Wave 2, so stay tuned. In the past Wave 2 follows almost immediately after Wave 1, so it’s possible. It also doesn’t say what is in the dual packs, so it could be combos of Skylanders released with Wave 1. For example, the dual pack could include maybe Stormblade and the Sky Slicer, or it could be a brand new Skylander and vehicle combo. My bet would be on Skylanders that have already come out in single packs, so you may want to wait. You would only about $3 on a pair though, so it might be worth getting them separately. We probably will know soon, as Best Buy will probably update their website any day. For now lets’ check out what is available for Wave 1.

UPDATE: Well, this morning I got an e-mail from GameStop, and sure enough they advertised that Frightful Fiesta will be “first” at GameStop. I guess even Skylanders now have timed exclusives. Also, Target is showing a Nitro Stealth Stinger, but only if you search for Skylanders and not SuperChargers.

Head Rush and Nitro Head Rush – Skylander Review

Head Rush and Nitro Head Rush – Skylander Review

Head Rush and Nitro Head Rush - Skylander ReviewHead Rush is a new Earth Trap Master making her debut in Skylanders Trap Team. Head Rush was raised in a small village that was controlled by the spell of a powerful Harvest Sphinx. The Sphinx frightened villagers into plowing the vast fields of golden grass for his own benefit. None of the villagers were brave enough to confront the Sphinx, but Head Rush believed that if she could somehow inspire her people to stand together that they could fight back. She charged through the village using her mighty yodel to wake the villagers from their spell. With the village behind her, she was able to lead the charge to drive the Sphinx from the village for good. For her leadership and bravery she was made a member of the Trap Team where she now uses her Traptanium horns to take charge of evil!

Masker Mind – Villain Review

Masker Mind – Villain Review

Masker MindMasker Mind is an undead element villain that you will find haunting Level 6 – Rainfish Riviera. Even though he’s undead, it seems like he relies on a lot of magic to control his enemies. He believes that everyone is entitled to HIS opinion. He’ll make sure this happens through dark sorcery, where he can take control of an enemy’s mind for a spell. He also uses a telekinetic push to keep his enemies at bay. Once you can prove that hypnosis is real then Masker Mind will become even stronger. Even once he has evolved though, you may find that Masker Mind is better left to his own thoughts.

SuperChargers Takes Skylanders Online

GamesCom 2015Last week at Gamescom 2015 we got some interesting new Skylanders news about the new SuperChargers game. The biggest and most interesting news was something that we’ve been asking about for a while. Skylanders SuperChargers will feature online co-op gameplay for the first time. You and a friend online will now be able to tackle the adventure together. But that’s not all. SuperChargers will have a large focus on vehicle racing as well. There will be an all new Racing Mode featured in the game which will have different Land, Sea and Sky environments. Six dynamic tracks will come with the game two for each of the different environments. It sounds like the racing will have similarities to Mario Kart in terms of vehicular racing combat, short cuts, and speed boosts but it will all have that familiar Skylander feel to them. Players can also race online in this mode with up to four people online or race on the couch in split screen.

SuperChargers Takes Skylanders Online SSActivision also announced three Racing Packs that will be coming during the SuperChargers release. Each racing pack will focus on one of the three car types, Land, Sea, and Sky. They will come with one vehicle and one SuperCharger Skylander and a villain trophy. The villain trophy will open up new tracks, new modes and new challenges. You’ll also be able to face 12 villains across the 3 packs where you will gain access to the villains signature vehicle and attacks once you defeat them. It sounds a lot like the Adventure Packs in the past, and we wonder will these racing packs replace those Adventure Packs, or might there be more story level add-ons planned in the future as well?

It sounds like we will be playing a very different Skylanders game this year, and we will be playing it Online! We can’t wait! Check out the official Skylanders SuperChargers overview trailer from Gamescom 2015 below.

Eons Elite Unboxing and GiveawayAfter seeing the second edition of Eon’s Elite characters, which look far cooler than the first edition characters, I’ve decided to collect and cover the series. It also didn’t hurt that there was a buy one get one free sale at Gamestop a few weeks ago as the original retail price of $24.99 was just too much! In this video we unbox one of the figures to show you how they are packaged.

Blackout – Skylander Review

Blackout – Skylander Review

Blackout - Skylander ReviewBlackout is a new core Dark Skylander making his debut in Trap Team. In fact he is the very first core Dark Element Skylander. He comes from the Realm of Dreams where the collective imagination of all creatures in the universe come together to form wonderful dreams and terrible nightmares. When he was young he was recruited into the Dark Stygian, which was a Dragon Clan whose job it was to create nightmares for evil creatures. This was done to hopefully discourage the creatures from any more bad behavior. But the clan found amusement in creating nightmares for others and began to spread nightmares to everyone. Blackout would not stand for this behavior and learned to teleport himself into the nightmares to fight the creatures within. Eventually, the nightmares reached Master Eon who witnessed Blackout’s courage within his own dreams. After helping Blackout put an end to the Dark Stygian, he made Blackout a Skylander who now serves as protector of the Realm of Dreams and beyond.

Brawl & Chain – Villain Review

Brawl & Chain – Villain Review

Brawl & Chain - Villain ReviewBrawl & Chain is the second angry walrus pirate villain that you will meet on your adventures through Skylands. The first was Brawlrus which we have previously reviewed. This angry walrus pirate though is actually a water element villain as you might expect. He does have chains for arms and sharp hooks for hands so he too could technically qualify to be a Tech villain. But I guess you can’t have almost the same character in the exact same element, that would be too noticeable. You know what they say: No chains, no pain so I guess he does make a good villain with his chain arms and all.  You can judge for yourself after you capture him on level 6 – Rainfish Riviera.

High Five – Skylander Review

High Five – Skylander Review

High Five - Skylander ReviewHigh Five is a new core Life Skylander making his debut in Trap Team. He grew up as one of the most skilled racers of all the dragonflies. He was the fifth son of the Royal High Flying Dragonflies, but he was too young to enter any of the racing tournaments. He watched as his four older brothers competed for the famous Trophy of Sparx. During the biggest race of the season, High Five learned that the Troll Racing Team had stolen the Trophy of Sparx and were going to use the race to cover their escape. High Five jumped into the race and used his amazing flying skills to make his way to the front where he caught up with the trolls and brought them down. For his bravery and skill he was given the Trophy of Sparx. He was also made a Skylander where he can now run circles around evil.
