Toys R Us is holding a 1-day Skylander Sale 9/13/2014. You can pick up any Swap Force Starter Pack for just $19.99. Also ALL figures are buy one get one 70% off. That’s one of the best discounts of the year from Toys R Us. So now is the time to stock up if there are still figures you want to get. Also, you can pre-order the Legendary Jawbreaker and Legendary Nightmare Express packs. Both have an expected release date of 10/5/2014 at the same time as the new Trap Team game.
With the excitement building over Skylanders Trap Team, which comes out in less than a month. My youngest and I are trying to go back and explore some of the extra content from the battle packs. This is a look at the first arena battle in the Arkeyan Crossbow Battle Pack. It was a little more involved and slightly different from the other arenas that came with the main game. We also tackle it with a couple of Skylanders who were below the suggested level of 16 to 20. See how we did, and tell us what you think of the Sand Castle Arena.
It’s not much of a shock when I tell you: “Guess What? Toys R Us is going to have special ‘Legendary’ variants of Skylanders for Trap Team!” I mean they’ve been selling exclusive Legendary figures for three games now. So not much is changing for the forth Skylanders game Trap Team. However, we are getting a slight twist on the Legendary figure option. This time, Toys R Us will have at least one Legendary Adventure Pack. The Nightmare Express adventure pack will have a Legendary version which comes with a Legendary Blades Skylander.

The Microsoft store is having a sale on the Xbox One version of Skylanders Swap Force Starter Pack for just $17.99. If your looking to get into the game, this is about as cheap of price as you will find. But hurry, Microsoft Store sales typically run out of stock fast. Check out the link here.
Today Conner unboxes and compares a pair of Trigger Happys for Skylanders Swap Force. He opens the regular Series 3 Big Bang Trigger Happy which is playable in any of the three games and he also unboxes the special named variant Springtime Trigger Happy which will show up in the game as Springtime Trigger Happy but only in Swap Force. Here are the Skylander Deals for 8/17/2014. Amazon still as the Swap Force Starter packs for $29.99, while those same packs are back up to $59.99 at Best Buy. Target has a buy 2 get one free on Swap Force figures (no mention on what type of figures). That’s equivalent of 3 for $20 if you are buying the core characters. Target is also selling the starter packs on sale for $29.99. Toys R Us is offering almost the same deal with a 3 for $25 on just the core Swap Force figures. However, their starter packs are on sale for $59.99. And at Gamestop, they have the starter packs for $39.99. Something to consider if you have a lot of built up credit.
Last week was Gamescom 2014 and there was a lot of gaming news coming from Cologne Germany. We covered a lot of that news for our sister site GameNutts.com. But the news was flowing for Skylanders as well. First it was announced that Minis would actually be playable in the new Skylanders Trap Team. Plus 8 new minis were announced in addition to the previously existing 8. Now if you never entered those Frito-Lay contests or happen to get any through promotions at Gamestop, don’t worry, you’re not missing out. The 8 original minis will be re-released with red bases for Trap Team. It also looks like the minis will come in two packs, perhaps even two per element, for $13.99 (rumored).
But Walmart has an exclusive “buddy pack” which is Gill Runt packaged with Tidal Wave Gill Grunt. You would pre-order that now, though if you are a collector I would advise against it. Its possible that the only way you then could get Thumpling would be to get him in the mini two-pack, meaning you would be stuck with two Gill Runts. That was the problem last year for the Walmart exclusive triple pack. Buying it ruined your chance to buy other triple packs without getting duplicates. Also coming out of Gamescom was a new Trap Team Poster. This poster is not a complete poster, but it has allowed us a peak an almost all of the new Skylanders. There are a couple of good Skylander Sales for 8/10/2014 for those that either want to boost their collection or even get into the game for the first time. Best Buy has all Swap Force Starter Packs for $29.99, plus they are running a buy 2 get one free on the swap force core characters. They also seem to have a deal where if you buy a Swappable Swap Force Character, then you can get a Giant Character for free.
