Slobber Trap – Villain Review

Slobber Trap – Villain Review

Slobber Trap - Villain ReviewSlobber Trap is a Water trappable villain that you will be able to capture in the second level – Know-It-All-Island. Slobber Trap looks a lot like Slobber Tooth and perhaps is a distant cousin. He’s a just your average plant monster dog, but his belly flops and slobber can be lethal. He’s not too old for new tricks though. Once captured he can be re-trained to fight for good. Find his quest on the same level you capture him on and you’ll unlock the full power of Slobber Trap.

Blastermind – Skylander Review

Blastermind – Skylander Review

Blastermind - Skylander ReviewBlastermind is a new Magic Trap Master making his debut in Trap Team. Blastermind wasn’t always a Psychic powerhouse. He used to just be the “hide and sheep” champion of the Sardonic Mountains. One day, when he was about to set a new Skylands record, the ground beneath him collapsed and Blastermind fell into a deep, mysterious cavern filled with shimmering crystals. His friends were all at the top of the hole when a large Ham Dragon showed up having been disturbed by the rumble of the collapse. Blastermind felt helpless he worried greatly for his friends and desperately wanted to save them. What he didn’t know, was that those shimmering crystals lining the hole he fell in, were actually Psionic Power Crystals that the Ancients had used to amplify their thoughts. The crystals heard Blastermind’s worried thoughts about saving his friends and gave him awesome psionic powers. He used those powers to get himself out of the hole and to mentally blast the circling Ham Dragon. After that, Blastermind joined the Skylanders where he became a member of the Trap Team.

Spotlight – Skylander Review

Spotlight – Skylander Review

Spotlight - Skylander ReviewSpotlight is a new core Light Skylander making her debut in Trap Team. She isn’t just any new Skylander, she is the first core Skylander of the Light element, which debuted in Trap Team. However, she had been in Skylands before. Master Eon found her in the Prismatic Palace when he was looking for the Crystal Orb of Light. When he found the orb, he reached out to touch it, which caused bright light to shine out of the orb. The light was so bright Master Eon had to shield his eyes. When he was able to lower his hand, he saw Spotlight standing before him in a respectful bow. He had not seen a Light Element creature before since it was not one of the eight common elements of Skylands. He sensed that the Ancients set her to him for a reason so he took Spotlight to the Core of Light and trained her to defend it as a member of the Skylanders. But when Kaos destroyed the Core of Light, Spotlight mysteriously vanished. Only now has she finally re-appeared.

Thunderbolt – Skylander Review

Thunderbolt – Skylander Review

Thunderbolt - Skylander ReviewThunderbolt is a new Air Trap Master making his debut in Trap Team. He grew up on the legendary Mount Cloudpierce. He was always extremely strong and very competitive, so when his people held a contest for the legendary Storm Sword, Thunderbolt had to win it. The Storm Sword was a legendary blade with the power to change the seasons in Skylands. For Thunderbolt, this would be a great honor to have. Thunderbolt won the contest and was about to be awarded the sword when a Frost Mage stole it and plunged all of Skylands into a wintery deep-freeze. Thunderbolt took up the chase, riding twin bolts of chained lightning. He quickly caught the mage, reclaimed the sword and restored balance to the weather in Skylands. For his heroic actions, Thunderbolt was made a member of the Trap Team and now uses the Traptanium Storm Sword to fight evil.

Trap Team Toys now at McDonaldsThis week the new toy in the Happy Meal at McDonalds are Skylanders Trap Team toys. I believe this is the third year that McDonalds has had a Happy Meal promotion with Skylander Toys. It started with Skylanders Skylanders Giants, and continued with Swap Force. Now there are six toys to collect in Happy Meals, featuring Skylanders and Villains from Trap Team. The characters available are in the picture. Happy (meal) hunting!

Trap Team Mega Epic Unboxing (Wave 5)

Trap Team Mega Epic Unboxing (Wave 5)This past weekend we found that Toys R Us had the last three Skylanders available for sale. Unfortunately we did not find many of the missing traps that we haven’t been able to find lately, but we did get a couple we needed, so here is our final Trap Team Mega Epic Unboxing (Wave 5). Watch as we unbox Enigma, Flip Wreck, Fling Kong and some random traps. I guess it’s not too mega or epic with such few characters to unbox. 🙂

Wave 5 Skylanders Out at Toys R Us

Wave 5 Skylanders Out at Toys R UsA couple weeks ago, a check of the big name retail websites, showed that Enigma was in stock at a couple of the nearby Targets. With no signs of Flip Wreck or Fling Kong anywhere online I decided to wait a bit. Well tonight, on a whim I decided to check out Toys R Us. Mostly I was just looking to grab a few traps that I have missed so far. At first I saw Enigma, which wasn’t too shocking. Upon closer inspection I saw that they had both Flip Wreck and Fling Kong on the shelves. I also found the Air Toucan, though I didn’t notice many of the new traps that have yet to be released. I did however, pick up a couple of the Wave 3 traps that I never really saw in stores. That makes me wonder if the Wave 3 traps ever came out with or if they were pushed back. If you remember, Wave 3 seemed to be most affected by the west coast shipping strike. In any case my trap information is far from official, it’s mostly just what I have observed and have seen through rumors. I also didn’t see any single packages of Snap Shot, Food Fight, or Deja Vu. I have no idea if they will get their own separate releases, but in the past most of those characters did get single character releases and they usually happen in Wave 5. They are also somewhat limited as not many people would already have the packs that they came in. But Blades has already been released as a single character having also come with the Nightmare Express pack.  As far as waves go, Wave 5 isn’t very large. Hopefully the rest of the traps and any single version characters will make there way out soon, but for now the main three new Wave 5 Skylanders are out at my local Toys R Us. If they are out at mine, then there is a good chance they might be at yours.
