Mirror of Mystery Available at Best Buy

Best Buy Mirror of MysteryI was browsing the Best Buy website, trying to figure out when they were going to actually have Wave 2 Skylanders in stock, when I was surprised to see the Mirror of Mystery Adventure Pack listed. It turns out that it and a lot of the other Wave 2 characters are actually now in stock now at Best Buy. They are not available for shipping but they are available for in store pick up (at least at the stores around me). So I was able to pick up quite a bit this evening. I placed my order through the website for in-store pickup. I would highly suggest this method myself. And don’t forget, you can support this site buy ordering your Skylanders through our links like that. But there are other reasons to order for in-store pick up. First, if the store is closed, you guarantee that they won’t sell out in the morning if you can’t get to the store right away. I did this on launch day and got some triple trap packs that seemed to sell out very fast. But tonight as I went into the store to pick up my latest order, I thought I’d check their shelves. Not one Wave 2 Skylander or Trap was on the shelf. Yet when I picked up my order they had everything waiting for me behind the counter. I believe they just got the stock in, but have yet to place it on the shelves. Had I just ran into my local store, I may have been sad to see nothing seemingly in stock. And then I would have had to ask someone to check the back, wait for people to figure out what they were doing or where the stuff was and in general it would have been a pain in to but to get what I wanted that way. So if you check the Best Buy website and find that your local store has the Mirror of Mystery in stock. Do yourself a favor, and just order it for in-store pickup. Wait an hour (usually not even that long), and go pick it up. It could not have been easier for me tonight. That said, look for our second Mega Epic unboxing of Wave 2 characters coming very soon.

Trap Team – Soda Springs (Chapter 1)

Trap Team - Soda SpringsWelcome to the first installment of SkylanderNutts plays Trap Team. In this series we just casually play through the game for the first time.

Today we play through Soda Springs (Chapter 1) of Skylanders Trap Team for the first time. Conner and Lias join me on the open mic as we start at the very beginning. We show the intro movie and then tackle level one. You’ll notice that we had to cut the scene out where we meet Sheep Creep. Unfortunately that scene caused the video to get banned worldwide thanks to Activision. So we cut it and now you can enjoy a look at the rest of the first level. We’ll try to post more levels soon, assuming we don’t have more issues with the videos getting blocked, so be sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook or follow us on YouTube if you want to get the updates.

Trap Team Wave 2 Skylanders

Skylanders TrapTeam Wave 2Well, it didn’t take long. Just two days after the release of Skylanders Trap Team and the Wave 1 Skylanders, Toys R Us has started to sell Trap Team Wave 2 characters. In the past Toys R Us almost always gets first dibs on selling the new Skylanders. So it’s no surprise that they have shown up at Toys R Us first. It is a bit of a surprise that it’s happened just 2 days after the release. If you don’t like the pay the Toys R Us premium for getting those characters early (though they often run buy one get one 40% off which almost makes up for the increase) you should start seeing this wave trickle into other retailers over the next few weeks. So here is the list of Trap Team Wave 2 Skylanders now available at Toys R Us.

Head Rush, Bushwack, and Tread Head @ Toys R Us

Head Rush @ TRUToys R Us sent a special e-mail out today notifying people that, Head Rush, Bushwack and Tread Head were now available in store for Skylanders Trap Team. Apparently these Skylanders are only available at Toys R Us at the moment. But a quick check of the Best Buy website shows a couple of those Skylanders and a Kaos Trap. However they are not yet in stock. So if you really want these characters now, check your local Toys R Us, and if you wait a little while you’ll probably find them soon at your favorite retailer.

UPDATE:

I just returned from my local Toys R US, and they had a lot more than what the e-mail mentioned. I’d say they had the full on Wave 2 Skylanders available early. I picked up:

Lob-Star, Head Rush, Bushwack, Fist Bump, Fizzy Frenzy Pop Fizz, Full Blast Jet-Vac, Hog Wild Fryno, Tread Head, and about 2 more traps per element. Toys R Us definitely has the most variety of single traps. Also, even though Toys R Us is the most expensive retailer, they are running a buy one get one 40% off on all characters, software and accessories for Skylanders. And single traps are buy one get one for $1, or about $4 each. Not too bad of a deal. And in case you weren’t counting, that is now all 5 of the returning characters that have been released. We’re only missing a magic Trap Master in order to be able to play all of the game outside of the “?” areas.

Trap Team Mega Epic Unboxing (Wave 1)

Skylanders Trap Team Mega Epic Unboxing Wave 1This year instead of having Conner just do single unboxings, we are all going to unbox as many as we can. So today Skylanders Trap Team was released and after a day of shopping we have our first Trap Team Mega Epic Unboxing. We unbox almost everything that came out today as part of the Wave 1 release of characters for Trap Team including both the 3DS version of the game and the Limited Dark Edition. What we did not unbox was the Nightmare Express Adventure Pack, Nitro Krypt King and Legendary Jawbreaker. We should be getting these items in the mail soon. So we might have to do another Mini-Mega Epic Unboxing when we get those. I mention in the video that we would attach a look at the first level to the game. Well, this video was almost an hour long, so we will just post a separate video for a look at the first level. Also, this was the first time all three of us did an unboxing video. As such we used a different microphone set up, and the placement wasn’t the best as occasionally I block the microphone and muffle the sound a little. I think we can fix that for next time. So sit back and enjoy the three of us as we tear through the first wave of Skylanders for Skylanders Trap Team.

Trap Team Wave 1 Skylanders

Skylanders TrapTeam Wave 1Today is the release of Skylanders Trap Team. As always we are presented only with a handful of figures available on Day 1. These figures are what we call the Wave 1 figures. Usually it’s a fairly large wave, and Wave 2 typically comes out before Thanksgiving. Based on what we’ve seen from pre-order information on major retail sites, and some rumors to what people have started to pick up in stores let me summarize what ‘might’ be included in the Trap Team Wave 1 Skylanders.

Meet the Trap Team Skylanders: Returning Favorites

Skylanders TrapTeam LogoIt’s time to take a look at the returning favorite Skylanders to Trap Team. These have been in at least one previous game and would be a series 2, series 3, or series 4 Skylander. There are only five returning characters this year which I think is a good thing. I’d much rather have new characters than re-posed existing characters. Now it’s time to Meet the Trap Team: Returning Favorites.

Meet the Trap Team Skylanders: New Core

Meet the Trap Team Skylanders: New CoreSkylanders Trap Team is almost out, and we almost have the full list of new Core Skylanders for Skylanders Trap Team. We now know all 19 of the core Skylanders set for Trap Team. There are 16 base new figures, and three special named variants: Dark Food Fight, Legendary Blades and Legendary Deja Vu. It appears that all three Frito-Lay characters were always going to be characters in the game, but it was their names that came from the contest winners. It’s possible that by then end of Trap Team, we may learn of a couple more special named variants of the 16, but for now, this is all of the New Core Skylanders. It’s time to meet the Trap Team Skylanders: New Core.
