Today the boys and I start our third tour in Skylanders SuperChargers Racing: The Marvelous Tour. This tour introduces a new race mode called Danger Zone, where we must drive and avoid falling Grinnades. I believe we have seen most of the other race modes before, but watch to see how the boys and I do as we try to get half way through this tour.
Smash Hit is a new Earth Skylander for Skylanders SuperChargers. He is a Warsupial, a rare species known for their skill in combat. They are also known for finding and smashing any dangerous artifacts that are found from the Arkeyan Empire. So it is easy to see why Smash Hit likes to break things. Master Eon took notice of Smash Hit’s amazing skills with a wrecking ball when he was able to dismantle an Arkeyan Conquertron in under an hour. Master Eon recruited the Warsupial and his Thump Truck into the SuperChargers so they could help wreck Kaos and his Sky Eater.

This year’s Cutscene Theater video for Skylanders SuperChargers is the longest one yet. As such, I’ve decided to break it up into three more manageable to watch parts. Now if you have a favorite part or levels, you don’t have to scrub through the whole video to find them. The video is mostly it’s cutscenes, but I kept in gameplay sections where there was important dialogue. There seemed to be more of that kind of dialogue this year than in years past so there is a larger mix of gameplay scenes to cutscenes. All together it makes the movie of Skylanders SuperChargers. Today I found the first signs of the Wave 4 characters at Toys R Us. My local Toys R Us had all of the vehicles on store shelves, but surprisingly they did not have any of the characters. In fact I noticed they had very few of ANY characters. They had Legendary Bone Bash Roller Brawl, Big Bubble Pop Fizz, Legendary Hurricane Jet-Vac and that was about it. They were strangely short of SuperChargers characters. They had a lot of the older games characters still and a lot of vehicles, Legendary Sky Packs and the Nintendo Dual Packs, but just not many of the single characters. But that may just be my local store, I’ve heard stories on the internet of people finding the Wave 4 characters at their local Toys R Us, so it might be worth a trip. Also this week, Toys R Us is running their popular Buy 1 get 1 40% off. This seems to coincide with every new release of Skylanders characters so take advantage of that if you can. When you look at the list of new characters in Wave 4 below, you’ll notice that a lot of them are characters that have already been out in other packs. Astroblast and the Sun Runner could be had in the Sky Racing Pack, and Hot Streak and Spitfire come with every non-Nintendo release of the game.

Well, here we are with another Wave 3 unboxing for Skylanders SuperChargers. After Christmas we’ve seen the slow release of a number of “special” characters and dual packs. We’ve picked up the ones we found and needed, and now we have another unboxing of Wave 3 characters. Maybe it’s more like Wave 3.5 as these special variants don’t really stick to the typical wave releases of characters. In this unboxing we have the Turbo Charge Donkey Kong, and Barrel Blaster dual pack, The Sky Racing Pack featuring Astroblast and the Sun Runner, the Target exclusive Nitro Soda Skimmer, the Toys R Us exclusive Legendary Bone Bash Roller Brawl, and Birthday Bash Big Bubble Pop Fizz.
Deep Dive Gill Grunt is a new SuperCharged version of Gill Grunt for Skylanders SuperChargers. He has had a new version of his character in each Skylanders game. Unlike his other versions, this version for SuperChargers has a brand new set of attacks. He is still the same Gillman searching Skylands for the pirates that stole his mermaid. He even uses the same Trident style weapon and uses a water jetpack to move around. His new attacks though make him more powerful and faster than ever. Villains of Skylands beware! You will definitely want to “Fear the Fish”.
Today the boys and I finish off the Glorious Tour for Skylanders SuperChargers Racing. Last time I think we played a few too many races so this video is a bit shorter. We only had two races/challenges to go in the Glorious Tour so we finished those off. From now on, I think we’ll have a better idea on which icon’s are races and which are just gates. We will try to shoot for two or maybe three videos per tour from here on out.

Another special variant SuperChargers figure has made his way on to store shelves at Toys R Us. I found Birthday Bash Big Bubble Pop Fizz today at my local Toys R Us. Like most characters it seems like Toys R Us has him first. I did not stop by any other stores, but the websites for Best Buy, Amazon, and Gamestop do not yet list this figure as available. However, there is nothing on the packaging that indicates that he will be a Toys R Us exclusive. So if you need to have Birthday Bash Big Bubble Pop Fizz now, check your local Toys R Us. If you can wait, you might save some money by getting him from another store later.
