Skylands is in peril! Kaos has unleashed his most evil weapon yet — the Doom Station of Ultimate Doomstruction. All of Skylands stands of the verge of collapse, and a special team, called the SuperChargers, has been assembled to pilot an unstoppable fleet of incredible vehicles. Now you and the SuperChargers must pilot these powerful vehicles over land, under sea, and through the sky to stop Kaos and save Skylands!
SuperChargers is the fifth game in the Skylanders series. This game introduces vehicles for the first time to the series. Land, Sea and Air vehicles will be able to be piloted, upgraded, and raced in the new game. Pair the right Skylander with the right vehicle and unleash the ultimate power of the vehicle.
Trap Team will not require a new portal so it is expected that there will be a cheaper portal owners pack for sale at some point. Initially only starter packs have been announced. Each console starter pack will come with a Vehicle (Hot Streak), one new core "SuperCharger" Skylander (Spitfire) and one returning favorite: Super Shot Stealth Elf. This time though, the returning favorites will feature new moves and powers making them play like a brand new character. All older Skylanders will also work in SuperChargers, but villains will not be playable. They will however, add special villain Skystones that will unlock when a trap is put onto the portal with a villain in it.
The 3DS and Wii version of SuperChargers will once again be a separate version of the game. These systems are just not capable of running the current gen versions of the game. It has been revealed that the name of the game is called Skylanders SuperChargers Racing, but no details about how the game plays has yet been released.
Nintendo also revealed two new Skylanders exclusive to Nintendo versions of the game. Hammer Slam Bowser and his Clown Cruiser will come with the Wii U version of the game which is an actual version of SuperChargers. Turbo Charge Donkey Kong and his Barrel Blaster with come with the SuperChargers Racing for the Wii and 3DS. Both versions will not come with Spitfire and Hot Streak, but both will still include Super Shot Stealth Elf.
There will also be another Dark Edition of Skylanders SuperChargers. In fact there will be three different versions due to the different Nintendo versions and characters. The Xbox and PlayStation versions of the game will feature Dark Spitfire, Dark Hot Streak, Dark Super Shot Stealth Elf and Dark Sea Shadow. The Wii U version will come with Dark Turbo Charge Donkey Kong, and Dark Barrel Blaster as well as the Dark Spitfire and Dark Hot Streak. The Wii version which will be a different game called Skylanders SuperChargers Racing, will come with Dark Hammer Slam Bowser and his Dark Clown Cruiser, as well as Dark Spitfire and Dark Hot Streak.
Note: The Dark Characters will NOT be of the new Dark Element introduced in Skylanders Trap Team. The characters will retain the same element type as their non dark edition versions.
