If you haven’t fired up your Battlecast app in a while you may want to take the time to do so soon. When you do, you’ll receive a message notifying you that the digital game will end on September 1, 2017. That’s when Activision will pull the plug on their Battlecast servers effectively ending the digital version of the game. It sounds like this won’t just end the ability to play online but that it will actually prevent the game from working so you won’t even have the ability to play your single player campaign matches either. We’ll see, but that might be the first game I’ve owned digitally that has become completely useless after a server shut down. Most games allow you to continue the single player game even if you can’t download the game anymore.
It looks like Target has acquired the early scoop on the latest to be released Skylanders Tide Pool and Blaster-Tron. Rumor has it that these two figures will get a week or two head start at Target before appearing on other local retailer shelves like Best Buy and Toys R Us. I for one am glad, since I’m constantly finding new Skylanders on store shelves at Target and then having them be date restricted at the register. That is definitely not the case this time as I was able purchase both of the characters at my local Target this past weekend. So if you are in the need of a couple more Imaginators make sure to check your local stores or order from their website.
Today the Cursed Tiki Temple Adventure Pack finally was released in the US for Skylanders Imaginators. We had been waiting for it so that we could do our Skylanders Imaginators Wave 4 Unboxing. So here it is, and stay tuned to watch the boys play through the Cursed Tiki Temple next week!
Those looking for the new Wave 4 Single Sensei Packs for Skylanders Imaginators may want to check your local Toys R US. Grave Clobber, Hard Boiled Flare Wolf, Egg Bomber Air Strike and Pain-Yatta are now available. To see if they are in stock at your local Toys R Us, check the links on our Character Pages. Like with every wave, the new characters start to show up at Toys R Us weeks before they hit other retailers. So if you would rather pick them up from somewhere cheaper like Amazon or Best Buy, then keep checking those Character Pages, as I will activate links to other retailers as soon as I find out that they are available. If you find them online elsewhere and I don’t have a link up yet, then add a comment so I will know to get those added. Some of you may have previously bought Pain-Yatta with the Magic Creation Crystal, however if you were holding out for ONLY the character he is now available. We are waiting on one more character to come out in Wave 4 and that is Wild Storm which comes with the Cursed Tiki Temple Adventure Pack. He has a release date of March 12th. Once we get him we will do our Wave 4 Unboxing video.
Hello Everyone. Here is the compilation of all of the villains and Doomlanders for Skylanders Imaginators. I tried to capture any enemy with an introduction by the announcer. I even put in a couple enemies that didn’t have an announcer introduction. These are just the villains from the main game. I will do another video later with the villains from the adventure packs once all adventure packs are released.

If you haven’t bought Imaginators yet, or are missing a few figures then you might want to check out the sale at your nearest GameStop on Saturday. You can save $35 off of the latest Starter Packs. Rumors have been swirling for a while now about Wave 3 Imaginators characters hitting store shelves. I can finally say that they have appeared at my local Toys R Us this weekend. I picked up everything but the Thumpin Wumpa Islands Adventure Pack, since we got that with the PS4 edition of the game. Also, strangely enough I did NOT see that adventure pack at Toys R Us, though you can pick it up from Target Online, so if you are looking for that watch for it to show up soon.

As a result, most retailers have already released their ads, and those that have not, have most likely had their ads leak. Starting today you can get the Legendary Magic Creation Crystal with Mirror, Mirror comic at Toys R Us. Over the next two weeks, you’ll be able to pick up two new Legendary Creation Crystals with comics. Next week on 11/6 the Legendary Light Creation Crystal will be available with the Arbor Day Comic. Then on 11/13 you can pick up the Legendary Life Creation Crystal with the Tri and Tri Again comic.
Are you ready to watch a brand new cartoon? Skylanders Academy debuts tomorrow (10/28/2016) on Netflix. The new cartoon is a Netflix original and is scheduled to have 13 episodes in season 1. Then in 2017 there will be 13 more. Hopefully, if it finds itself an audience we will be talking about more seasons of Skylanders Academy coming to Netflix after that. I know the boys and I are ready to spend our Friday night with some Pizza and a mini Skylanders Academy marathon. I’m sure we’ll finish the series by the end of the weekend. There will be a mixture of familiar voices and new voices as the cast of the show is not all the same as the cast of the game. The most notable and controversial change is that of Glumshanks. Fans have grown to love the likeable green sidekick of Kaos, but unfortunately for fans he will be voiced by well known comedian Norm McDonald. Now I happen to like Norm McDonald and he “might” be an OK Glumshanks but he can be a vary polarizing actor. (You either hate him or love him). I’m a little worried that he’s going to change the Glumshanks character too much.
Norm McDonald isn’t the only well known actor in the cast. Comedian Harland Williams (another love him or hate him guy) will voice Hugo, while the Academy Award winning actress Susan Sarandon will voice the Golden Queen. The Golden Queen is another well liked and voiced game character, so it will be interesting to see what an Academy Award winner can bring to the voice. Other changes, though much smaller, include Justin Long as the voice of Spyro. Justin Long was in Dodgeball, but many will probably recognize him from the Apple commercials where he played the “Mac” opposite of John Hodgeman who played “I’m a PC”. Ashley Tisdale from High School Musical and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody will play Stealth Elf, and Johnathan Banks from Breaking Bad will play Eruptor.
Some of the actors from the game are returning for the show including maybe the most important voice of all, Kaos played by Richard Horvitz. The distinctive and familiar voice of Ellis Greg will also return as the voice of Jet-Vac. Finally, even though he doesn’t have many lines in the game, the long time comedian and voice actor of Pop Fizz, Bobcat Goldthwait, will return and voice Pop Fizz in the TV Show. That’s another huge positive as far as I’m concerned.
So there you have it. If you didn’t know about Skylanders Academy before now you do. Most likely by the time you read this the show will already be available on Netflix. Check out the trailer below and then watch the show and let us know what you think!
