It’s time to take a look at the returning favorite Skylanders to Trap Team. These have been in at least one previous game and would be a series 2, series 3, or series 4 Skylander. There are only five returning characters this year which I think is a good thing. I’d much rather have new characters than re-posed existing characters. Skylanders Trap Team is almost out, and we almost have the full list of new Core Skylanders for Skylanders Trap Team. We now know all 19 of the core Skylanders set for Trap Team. There are 16 base new figures, and three special named variants: Dark Food Fight, Legendary Blades and Legendary Deja Vu. It appears that all three Frito-Lay characters were always going to be characters in the game, but it was their names that came from the contest winners. It’s possible that by then end of Trap Team, we may learn of a couple more special named variants of the 16, but for now, this is all of the New Core Skylanders. With the excitement building over Skylanders Trap Team, which comes out in less than a month. My youngest and I are trying to go back and explore some of the extra content from the battle packs. This is a look at the first arena battle in the Arkeyan Crossbow Battle Pack. It was a little more involved and slightly different from the other arenas that came with the main game. We also tackle it with a couple of Skylanders who were below the suggested level of 16 to 20. See how we did, and tell us what you think of the Sand Castle Arena.
It’s not much of a shock when I tell you: “Guess What? Toys R Us is going to have special ‘Legendary’ variants of Skylanders for Trap Team!” I mean they’ve been selling exclusive Legendary figures for three games now. So not much is changing for the forth Skylanders game Trap Team. However, we are getting a slight twist on the Legendary figure option. This time, Toys R Us will have at least one Legendary Adventure Pack. The Nightmare Express adventure pack will have a Legendary version which comes with a Legendary Blades Skylander.
